A heavy-duty ball joint separator tool, equivalent to JLR OEM 204-793A, for use on various Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles. The scissor type design enables the ball joint to be easily separated.
Scissor type ball joint splitter, suitable for use on various Land Rover & Jaguar models.
Applications include: Land Rover Discovery V, L462 chassis code, (from 2016). Range Rover IV, L405, (from 2012). Range Rover Sport II, L494 (from 2013).
Inner opening; 31mm. Outer opening; 52mm. Upper jaw length; 215mm. Lower jaw length; 220mm. Weight 3.7kgs.
Manufactured from heat treated 45 carbon steel.

Equivalent to JLR OEM 204-793A, this tool provides an efficient solution for ball joint separation in these applications, including Land Rover Discovery V (L462 chassis from 2016), Range Rover IV (L405 from 2012), and Range Rover Sport II (L494 from 2013).
This is a hefty bit of kit (weighs 3.7kg), and it needs to be to split these joints. Manufactured from heat-treated 45 carbon steel for strength, hardness, durability and wear resistance. It’s easy to use: adjust to fit, then apply tension to the joint. A quick tap with a hammer will crack the ball joint and it can be removed. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines and keep the tool lubricated with black molybdenum disulphide grease for a long and useful life.
